Laikipia, Kenya

Lolldaiga River House is a 400m² home with four en-suite bedrooms, indoor and outdoor fireplaces and wide verandahs, set on twelve private acres that run down to the river. Just 25 minutes from Nanyuki, it is a base for some of Laikipia’s finest wildlife and wilderness.

Lawns and gardens surround the house. Beyond them the land has been left deliberately wild, with paths cut through the bush to the river that marks the boundary with the conservancy.

The setting

The Timau River forms the boundary between the property and the Lolldaiga Conservancy. The twelve acres are wonderfully peaceful, with abundant birdlife and occasional elephant and other wildlife sightings.

Quiet local roads wind through farmland and past farmsteads, with views towards Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. They are perfect for a morning run or a long walk before breakfast on the verandah.
